Ok, I normally don’t write product reviews but this one deserves some praise. The airplane is easy to fly and durable due to the type of foam, the lightness of the plane and the shape of the body and wings which are more structural than other planes we bought. My six year old son and I have a real good time with this in our backyard and the plane handles hitting the occasional tree, bush or other objects well not to mention a hard landing or two, three or more. And yes, it is still in one piece. This is much more than I can say when comparing to other planes we bought that were cheaply made or didn’t fly at all. The size and speed are perfect for yards although a little more room is nice if you want to do more acrobatic flights or for covering more distance. The twin engines are more than capable of powering this plane to do loops (full throttle), level flight (quarter throttle) and turns (the plane turns by varying the speed of the props). I was skeptical about the maneuverability of only using prop speed for control but was happily surprised on how agile the plane really is. The wings are configured for lift. The more power you apply the higher the plane will climb. You can get the plane pretty high too, cut the engines to produce a stall then get a cool nose dive where the plane’s wing shape automatically level it out for a nice glide approach. The charger is very convenient. Just open a door on the controller where a small cable is and plug it into the plane. It charges in under 10 minutes for about 15 minutes of flight. All in all,very satisfied with this airplane. Will probably be getting a second for my daughter so she and my son can fly at the same time.

Positives:

+Durable for a beginner

+Just the right size for neighborhood or small park flight

+Solid engine thrust and durable propellers

+Maneuverability

+The blinking lights are a great touch (the kids love it, especially when it gets a little dark!)

Negatives:

-I’ll write back when we discover one but in the meantime, my kids and I will continue to have many hours of fun with this airplane!

 “Very Good if You enjoy Sticking Thermocol with Glue.” 2009-10-07

It arrives well packaged in a Semi-knocked down condition. As you start assebling it.. the thermocol parts already stuck with glue start falling apart. The manufacturers have anticipated this and have supplied a small tube of Glue… but the tube contains dried up glue… After a little effort and some fresh glue you get it all ready to fly and you realise.. it does not work…

Makes for a good showpeice or a Model to explain the kids the principles of flying and aviation.. expecting anything else.. would be dissapointment.

But the only thing keeping the plane grounded is that I haven’t gotten around to gluing it back together (wifes pregnant and I don’t want her around the glue)

It cant handle any wind over a slight breeze, tends to porpoise rather than climb, that can be over come by trimming it to fly a circle, and with enough height it can even do some basic stunts. It is not the easiest plane to master, not for indoors or a back yard (less than an acre) but for $25 is great fun.

This plane is very durable yet it has very little power and no stability. The first time i used it, it flew straight into the ground. When you try to turn, it banks sharply into the ground. there is no control on this plane and it wont climb, turn, or even land properly. I would recommend buying a different rc airplane with more power and more control/stability.

This plane is absolute junk. I bought it for my nephew’s 10th birthday, he just got it today and it wouldn’t even FLY! Once they managed to get it into the air it crashed and was destroyed. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

Ok, so we got one of these little guys around a month or so ago. In that time its flown correctly one time, and by one time I mean one circle of our field about 1 minute in the air. That’s right about a minute worth of flight in around a month.

First problem with this thing is the landing gear wouldn’t snap into place like its suppose to. I had to physically shove it in the notch, which in turn pushed the bottom of the plane in on itself. Second problem is the plane’s durability. Yeah, I know for less than 50 what do you expect? Well, expect more than this will give you. First light crash (and I DO mean light, after a hand launch that lasted all of about 4 feet) it came down on its nose cone and nearly ripped it off. In addition to the nose the rotors are very easily broken.

My biggest problem with this model is the way the battery is charged. If you’ve ever flown a RC plane or heli you will be shocked by how primitive this is done for this battery. Plug it into the back of the controller, turn it on.. and wait for the battery to get hot. NO JOKE, thats how you’re suppose to know when to stop charging, by the temperature. Thats just not very safe.

The only way I’ve kept mine together at all in the past month is thanks to Elmer’s school glue. I’ve had to glob glue into cracks, holes in the foam, and even use it to keep the wings on the plane. If you buy this plan, no joke, buy some white school glue as you’ll need it.

This model cost us 45 dollars or so shipping and all. For just a little more you can pickup a 3 CH Air Hogs plane, or for 99.99 a “mini Super Cub” from a hobby store or online. If you want to fly an RC airplane, this isn’t the model you need. It looks “cool” sure, but it just doesn’t work. Save your pennies and for a little more you can get a better, bigger, and an easier to fly bird.
